I've introduced myself before, shared the voyage of my Cal 29 that was a basketcase, and wound up too much to handle. She's gone now, sadly, really hated giving up on it and letting a boat scrapper guy have her, but she was too far gone for me to handle any more.
When house went on the market so that I could go hard core looking for a live aboard that I didn't scrap together for 2800 bucks, I started shopping, and considered trawlers for a while, had a couple picked out, but they didn't work out, and all the while had this nagging in my head that i'd miss sailing if i got a trawler. After the second one fell through, because house closing delays, I took it as a sign, and went back to my roots and looking for another Cal. I think I found her, 1982 Cal 31, new sails, windows redone, no leaks, A/C, autopilot, decks redone, etc.etc. etc..and local. Turn key. She's winterized right now, and owner is out of town, but we're in contact back and forth steadily. Any glaring issues with the Cal 31 besides the companionway hatch boards need to be tongue n groove to be more water tight?

I always had heard they were wonderful boats. Glad to hear you are going to give it another try. Good luck!
