Unfortunately, the time has come that I must sell Muleka. After having to move to Southern California five years ago, I had wanted to bring her there, but one thing or another has prevented that from happening. It was also nice to have the boat in the SF Bay because I love sailing there. She is docked at Marina Village in Alameda. A different boat practically fell in my lap in So Cal, and it suddenly made sense to move forward with the new project. At first, I considered keeping both, but the slip fees alone are a bit much.

I have done a lot of work on this lovely Cal 34-III over the past six years. She’s ready to go sailing, and she sails beautifully. The Westerbeke 30 engine has been reliable. The boat is very dry inside. This vessel is ready to go with room for the next owner to add their own improvements.

Here are the things I’ve done off the top of my head. There are more to add to the list, I am sure.

New in 2022:
Engine mounts
Prop shaft
PSS dripless
Both shaft and prop treated with PropSpeed
Cutless bearing
Muffler
More new bottom paint
Rebuild transmission with new parts
New shift cable
Engine service
New fuel filter

New in 2021:
Harken Ocean MkIV rolling furler and hardware
Headstay
130% furling Genoa by UK Sailmakers
Running rigging
Lazy jacks
Bimini - solar ready
Helm wheel
Raymarine wheel autopilot
B&G Vulcan 9 chart plotter
Airmar DST810 tri-ducer (depth, speed, temperature)
Bottom paint
Engine service
New prop
Re-plumbed all freshwater lines with aquapex

New in 2020:
New v-berth mattress
Remove and replace compression post and adjoining bulkhead with teak
New Lewmar self-tailing jib sheet winches
New fresh water pump
New bilge pump
Companionway hatch

New in 2019:
Remove and replace hull liner with new.
Remove headliner and paint white

Things I added that I may take with me for my new boat project:
Isotherm drawer fridge, solar, house AGM battery bank, B&G VHF radio, B&G wireless wind instrument, Raritan Sea Era electric flush head, Purasan EX waste treatment system.

I have not come up with a price yet.

Hey Mary

Sorry to learn that you are selling your Cal34, especially with all the work you have done on the boat. Best wishes with your new project on another boat.

Thank you, both! It is going to be difficult to let my Cal go! I hope I can find a buyer that will enjoy her as much as I have. My new boat is not a Cal, its a Kelly Peterson 44.
