Hi.
We would like to moor a CAL T/2 close to the cottage to be used as a motor sailer only. No sails . The location for the boat to be moored is only 3 feet deep. The question is .....Does the keel need to be installed ?

Hi Mike. Modifying any boat to that degree can open up a lot of issues. Even without the mast, removing the ballast from a boat that was made to heel could lead to some serious stability problems. I would strongly recommend a quick consult with a marine architect. Good luck and stay safe!

I think they flip over without a keel.
